Living Your Life to the PLUS+

I went to a Juice Plus+® Presentation last week and the first thing that our fearless leader, Sharon, asked us was this: “How do you live your life to the Plus?”   We went around the table and among the few of us that were there, I realized that everyone had a different reason to live their life to the Plus and what “plus” really meant to them.   Traveling, sports, racing, kids; My initial thought was loved ones.  I live a healthy lifestyle because I want to be around my loved ones for as long as possible, without being sick and needing their help for a long period of time as I get older.   In the past couple of years I lost two grandparents, one to Alzheimer’s and one to a Stroke.  My grandfather had  a stroke at a fairly young age and was bed ridden for over 10 years before he passed away.  Growing up , my Grandparents never lived a healthy lifestyle (which for that generation I don’t think is abnormal).  They never ate healthy, they drank soda constantly and never took care of themselves physically.    Today, we are warned almost daily of ways to be healthier,  ways to be more fit, and how the obesity rate is growing at a rapid pace.  According to the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), “More  than one-third of U.S. adults (35.7%) are obese”.  The CDC also states: “Obesity-related  conditions include heart disease, stroke, type 2 diabetes and certain types of  cancer, some of the leading causes of preventable death”.   So how do we reduce this risk?  It’s simple, eat healthier!  Sharon pulled out a plastic container filled with french fries and a burger from a fast food restaurant that were from May 2010, over 2 years old!  Not a single growth of mold and if you hadn’t touched it’s hard shell, you would have thought it was still fresh and edible.   But ultimately, your body is having a hard time digesting these toxins.

Before taking Juice Plus+®, I did some research on how I could live my life to the Plus.  What I needed to do differently with my life.  I have always love to be physically active and I eat healthy, but there was something I was missing.  I knew I wasn’t getting ALL of the nutrients I needed and I would constantly tell myself I wasn’t eating enough fruits and veggies but yet my budget and my time didn’t allow me to go the grocery store or the farmer’s market to pick up fresh produce daily.   I found that this whole food based nutrition, is the healthiest fruits, vegetables and grains, juiced and dried at low temperatures, removing the water and most of the sugar, salt and bulk and it’s also gluten-free.  They take the juice powders and put them into capsules and chewables jammed packed with phytonutrients, antioxidants, and nutrients (all natural!).   Your body can’t absorb synthetically made vitamins and minerals nearly as well as the vitamins and minerals found in food, so if you are taking a multi-vitamin daily, you are mostly likely flushing 90% of it down the toilet.   Juice Plus+® has over 17 published studies proving the benefits in preventing disease and improving your health.  This doesn’t mean I don’t buy fresh produce but now I know that I am getting the 7-13 daily recommended servings each day.
